FAQs

WHAT IS THE ATTIRE?
Somewhere between a bear pelt and a tuxedo.

With clear skies, the ceremony will be outdoors in a grassy area and the dinner and party will be held indoors.

WILL THERE BE SHUTTLES TO THE VENUE?
No need! Once you arrive at Huso Lodge, everything is within walking distance - the Welcome Dinner, Accommodations, the Farm Store, the Ceremony, the Wedding Dinner, the Afterparty and the Sunday Brunch will all take place in different locations on the same property.

IS THERE PARKING ON SITE?
Yes, there is complimentary parking at the lodge.

CAN I BRING A GUEST?
If the guest’s name is listed on your invite when you RSVP, then yes!

*your children’s names may not be listed, but they are invited

ARE KIDS INVITED?
Yes! This is a family-friendly weekend and we understand that many families may be making a vacation out of this trip! If “family” is noted on your invitation, then this includes any kiddos!

See below for more detailed plans for bringing kids along.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
In October in this part of Norway, expect to turn on that wood-burning stove and get cozy. Temperatures are typically in the 40s, but less like New York (bitter), more like Dublin(damp). Alex will definitely be cold-plunge/sauna-ing all weekend.

WHAT ARE THE AMENITIES AT HUSO LODGE?
Each cottage/house/apartment has a private barrel sauna and hot tub, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room, tv, etc.

Most meals will be provided, but the lodge is also opening the Farm Store on Saturday morning to fill in the gaps.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Pack your formal attire for the wedding ceremony and warm comfortable clothes and shoes for hanging around the property or exploring nearby mountains. Don’t forget your bathing suit for the sauna/hot tub/cold plunge!

DON’T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!
Remember that if your passport expires within 6 months of the travel date you will not be able to travel.

DO I NEED A CAR?
You don’t need a car since the venue is accessible by train/bus combo. We will be assessing the need for a shuttle from the train station, but won’t leave anyone stranded.

However, if you are traveling as a group or family or want to go explore the area, we recommend picking up a rental car at the airport in Oslo. There are beautiful lakes, towns, and mountain activities to explore nearby.

For Parents Bringing Little Ones:

Kids are welcome at all events. Huso Lodge is very family friendly, with lots of space to run around, and farm animals on the property ready for a [gentle] pet.

Depending on how many children will be present, we will hire “minders” for the ceremony, and are also partnering with an agency that can provide babysitters to individual families upon request. For example, if you want to have your little ones with you at most events, but would like to send them back to your room during the sit-down wedding dinner or before the afterparty (we recommend this as it will be late), you can hire a babysitter to take care of your little one back at the cottage.

Children are welcome to join the sit-down dinner, but you also have a choice to have someone bring a kid-friendly meal to your cottage if you’d prefer to let them relax at home instead.

We anticipate that there may be families that opt to bring grandparents or a nanny/babysitter along for the trip. There’s room to add them to the accommodation, just reach out directly to let us know so we can plan accordingly.

You may request a travel crib to be set up in your cottage prior to your arrival.
